Kai Chow

Kai Emry Christophe Chow was born on August 1, 2006, in Reston, Virginia. He comes from a family of musicians and was introduced to music from an early age. At four years old, he began taking private drum lessons, which continued until he was sixteen. He co-founded a rock band at age six and began songwriting at eight. In high school, Kai became involved in marching band, participating until his graduation.

After graduating, he faced a difficult period marked by a breakup and mental health struggles, which led him to completely change his approach to songwriting. In April 2025, he released his first single, “Fix.” The following month, he began teaching himself piano and guitar, both of which he now incorporates into much of his music, including songs such as “Sweet Dreams” and “Almost Love Songs.” On June 28, 2026, he released his 13-track debut album, Wolf, recorded entirely in his bedroom. He is now working on new music while pursuing opportunities with record labels.

His musical sound draws from the works of many different artists, primarily Fiona Apple and Jeff Buckley. His piano playing and lyricism are shaped by the works of Fiona Apple and Amy Lee, while his approach to guitar takes inspiration from Jeff Buckley and Searows. His other major musical influences include Amy Winehouse, Gwen Stefani, and Laufey.
